Getting to Know Your Child’s Country

Getting to Know Your Child’s Country

It is the journey that changes everything. For many adoptive families, traveling to their child’s country of origin marks a before and after… It’s not just a trip, it’s a key part of the adoption process.

This journey is not optional. It is the moment when you complete essential steps, such as immigration documents and legal processes needed to bring your child home.

But most importantly, it’s the moment when you meet your child in person 💛 you pick them up, and your life together begins.

Time to Live the Experience

Depending on the country, this trip can last between 2 to 3 weeks or even over a month. And although it may seem long, that time is invaluable. It’s enough to experience the culture from within and get to know your child’s environment. This is where something very important begins: the real connection between you.

Being in their country allows you to understand where your child comes from something no document can truly explain.

Walking through the streets, seeing how people live, experiencing the culture… all of this helps you build a deeper bond.

More Than a Journey

And then that moment comes… the one you’ve imagined so many times: the first meeting. It may be shy, full of emotions, or completely unexpected. But it’s real, it’s forever.

When you return home, you’re not just bringing your child with you. You’re bringing a part of their culture, your first memories together, and an experience you will never forget.

Because with that journey… the connection begins, and a family is born ❤️
