About The Children

Children available for adoption are between 9 to 15 years old. They will usually be part of a sibling group or have a significant special need.

Brazilian children come from a variety of ethnic groups that make up their rich cultural heritage. These groups are Latino-Brazilian, African-Brazilian, and European-Brazilian.

Eligibility

Applicants should be over than 25 years old. Both applicants much be 16 years older than the child.
Single women and men are allowed to adopt.
A Psychological Evaluation is required
Families with health and mental issues will be considered on a case by case basis.
Adoptive parents must have clean criminal history records to adopt from Brazil. (Some minor infractions occurring many years ago may be considered).

Adopting from Brazil is a one-trip process about 6-9 weeks long.

Time Frame

The average time between referral and picking up the child is about 4-6 months.  The entire adoption process can take about 18-36 months.
